This explains what we do with your personal information when you use this website or ask us to work on a visa application. It is written to be read, not to be impenetrable — if anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.
1. Who we are
Abdullah T Cons Ltd ("we", "us") is a visa consultancy based in the United Kingdom. When you send us your details through this website, we are the data controller for that information — meaning we decide what happens to it and we are responsible for it.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office as a data controller.
2. What we collect, and when
We only ask for what we actually need to do the work. When you submit an application through this website, that is:
- Your given names and surname, as printed in your passport
- Your email address and phone number, and a WhatsApp number if it differs
- Your nationality
- The country you are travelling to, your intended travel dates, and how many people are travelling
- Your UK residence status, if you choose to tell us
- Your preferred visa application centre, if you have one
- Anything you write in the "anything else we should know" box
We do not ask for your passport number, date of birth, address or financial details on this website. Those are only collected later, directly by our team, once we are actually working on your application and only where a specific application requires them.
If you contact us by WhatsApp, email or phone, we hold that conversation and whatever you tell us in it.
3. Why we are allowed to hold it
Under UK data protection law we have to have a lawful basis for holding your information. Ours are:
- Performance of a contract — you have asked us to provide a service, and we cannot provide it without your details.
- Legitimate interests — where you send us details but do not go on to instruct us, we may contact you about that enquiry, because you asked us to get in touch and it would be odd not to. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.
- Legal obligation — we keep records of transactions for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Where you tell us something that counts as special category data — for example information about your health that is relevant to your travel — we only use it with your explicit consent and only for your application.
4. Who sees it
Your information goes into our own internal system, which is used by the Abdullah Travels team and nobody else. It is not sold, rented or shared for marketing, ever.
We share information outside the business only where the service requires it:
- With the visa application centre operator and the relevant embassy or consulate, as part of making your application — this is the entire point of the service
- With our email provider, so we can send you a confirmation
- With insurers, accommodation or flight booking providers where your chosen service includes arranging those on your behalf
- Where the law requires us to
Making a Schengen visa application necessarily means your information reaches authorities in the country you are applying to. That is inherent to the application and cannot be avoided.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your application file for as long as we are working on it, and then:
- Enquiries that do not become work: deleted within 12 months
- Completed applications: kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year in which we invoiced you, which is the period UK tax law requires for business records
- Copies of identity documents: deleted once your application has been decided and there is no longer a reason to hold them
You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will unless we are legally required to keep it.
6. Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, to have mistakes corrected, to have your information deleted, to restrict or object to what we do with it, and to receive it in a portable format. You will not be charged for any of this, and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and give us a chance to fix it. You also have the right to complain directly to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
7. Cookies and what this website stores
This website does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Nobody is watching what you look at here.
It does store two things on your own device, which never leave it and never reach us:
- A note that the opening animation has already played, so it does not replay while you browse. This is cleared when you close the browser.
- A draft of a part-finished application, so a dropped connection does not erase what you have typed. It is cleared as soon as you submit, and expires after 14 days.
Because neither is used to track you and both exist to deliver something you asked for, we do not ask for your consent to them — there is nothing here to consent to. If that ever changes, we will ask properly and refusing will be as easy as agreeing.
8. Security
This website is served over an encrypted connection. Our internal system is password-protected and only accessible to our own staff. We do not take card payments on this website, and we never store card numbers or security codes anywhere.
No system is perfect. If something does go wrong and your information is put at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office as the law requires.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when it last changed. If we change it in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you rather than relying on you noticing.
